Meet Janna
Licensed Clinical Social Worker Candidate
I started my professional journey at the University of Montana, pursuing my lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. I soon realized my passion for helping people was rooted in a desire to help them mentally, emotionally, socially, and nursing was not my path any longer.
I began exploring avenues to help people in different ways, going on a journey of “what is next?” events. I soon changed my major to Social Work with a Minor in Native American Studies and knew I had discovered my calling. And yet, it was not long before I felt limited in supporting individuals to the extent I wanted to, and went on to obtain my Masters of Social Work with an emphasis in mental health with minority and aging populations from the University of South Dakota.
Over the course of my career in Social Work, I have worked with children in early childhood development, perinatal women, minorities, aging individuals, and the medical field. Each of these experiences has given me a new understanding of how unique life stories impact individuals and the relationships that matter most to them. My goal is to help you engage in your own story, explore how it has shaped you, and find healing and growth as you discover who you are today and who you want to become.

When I’m outside of the office, I enjoy adventuring in the great outdoors with my husband, 2 sons, and dog. When I am not with my family, you might find me journaling, reading, doing outdoor sports, cooking, or artwork.

My Theraputic Approach
Every individual comes to counseling with a different life story and how that story impacts them. Some people will come to therapy with a starting point in mind, and others may need guidance to know where to even begin. Our relationship can begin in either place; my goal is to support you in finding healing and experiencing growth wherever you are in your journey.
